This research aims to examine the relation between college students' response characteristics and resilience shown in life curve. 58 student at one university located in Northern Gyeonggi and Chungbuk, participated in cluster sampling. SPSS 18.0 was used in data analysis in order to conduct reliability verification, independent samples T-test, and correlation analysis. According to the study result, first, response characteristics and resilience of life curve had no significant difference in terms of sex. Second, number of curves in life curve had correlation with self control ability, and showed negative correlation in compulsion control, cause analysis skills, among sub-factors. Third, resilience had no significant difference, based on the directions of curves on life curve. Fourth, group with low resilience revealed more numbers of curves and negative events in life curve than that of group with high resilience. Based on this study result, it was confirmed that number of curves, number of positive events, number of negative events, final direction, which are response characteristics in life, are significant characteristics to examine relation with resilience. In addition, this study is valuable in that it is the first attempt to suggest response characteristics in life curve, in context of projective techniques using drawings. Besides resilience, there is a need for continuous investigation to relation with relevant variables, such as stress, self-efficacy, optimism, subjective well-being, and others, and it is necessary to examine that as a visual inspection method, how useful and appropriate the life curve is, and through follow-up study.
